Artist Statement
“Throughout the years, inspirations for the work have remained everyday elements, the kind of natural items such as leaves and fibers that others might walk by without even noticing, and historical elements, including vintage photographs. Each product is an elaborate collage, and every design is truly one-of-a-kind.”
Biography
Don has a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Illinois, and
along with working as a full- and part-time soccer coach, has been a freelance
painter and illustrator since 1983. His works are held in private collections
throughout the United States and have won numerous awards. Don is particularly
proud of the Indiana Artisan designation for his work, a juried honor
reserved for approximately 80 artists and craftspeople in the state.
