summer series. On Sunday, September 9th from 1 to 3 PM,
local jewelry maker and Graduate Gemologist (GIA) Karen
Chartier will discuss phenomenal gemstones and their dazzling special
effects and answer questions such as, How do they get their special effects?
What are color change, chatoyancy and asterism? Trained at Boston's acclaimed
North Bennet Street School, Chartier is known for her hand-fabricated, one-of-a-kind
gold, silver and platinum jewelry.
