Trunk Show at Celebrations
September 7, 2007, Pomfret, CT . . . On Sunday, September 23rd from 12 to 4 PM, Celebrations Gallery & Shoppes in Pomfret will host Maria Patricia Duque, owner of Ethnic Pride Marketing of Providence, Rhode Island for a Trunk Show. The show will feature imported jewelry and silk accessories handcrafted from natural materials by Columbian artisans. Complimentary seasonal refreshments will be served.
The
jewelry line features bold, colorful pieces carved from the native Tagua
Nut, also known as "vegetable ivory" for its similarities to elephant
ivory. Woven 100% silk accessories such as scarves, shawls and shrugs are
also handcrafted by Columbian families, who use ancient techniques and natural
dyes extracted from local plants. In addition to weaving, these families
care for the silk worms, harvest the silk and process it into usable fibers.
