"Women of Celebrations" Art Exhibition
December
29, 2007, Pomfret, CT … Celebrations Gallery & Shoppes invites
you to the "Women of Celebrations" Art Exhibition,
featuring sculptures by Willimantic artist Richard Jaworowski and frescos
by Norwich artist Merrill Park Keeley. The exhibition will run from January
18th to February 24th, 2008. This thematic exhibition focuses on
various expressions of beauty in the feminine form. An Opening Reception
on Friday, January 18th from 5 to 8 pm will offer complimentary
refreshments and a chance to meet and chat with the artists.
Merrill Park Keeley, a former graphic artist and
Paier Art School graduate, works in oils and watercolors. Her dimensional
fresco work features watercolor on plaster and highlights the feminine mystique.
Using dramatic shadows, flowing fabrics and color, she captures treasured
moments in time. Park Keeley is an elected Artist Member of the Mystic Art
Association and has had work accepted in several of the Connecticut Artist
Exhibitions at the Converse Gallery in the Slater Museum. She will offer
a free Fresco Lecture & Demonstration on Saturday, February
2nd from 1 to 3PM.
Richard Jaworowski, self-described "sculptor
of dreams," works in mahogany as well as Vermont marble. Graced with
the fluid lines & gentle swells of the human form, his pieces are shaped
to capture deeper emotions of the mind. Jaworowski was selected for the
42nd annual exhibition of the National Sculpture Society in New York and
his sculptures can be found in public and private collections across the
United States. Jaworowski will offer a free Marble Carving Demonstration
on Sunday, February 24th from 1 to 3PM.
The "Women of Celebrations" show is the first in a series of art
exhibitions offered by Celebrations Gallery throughout 2008.
