"Timeless Treasures of Celebrations"
Art Exhibition
February 26, 2008, Pomfret, CT . . . Celebrations Gallery & Shoppes invites you to the "Timeless Treasures of Celebrations" Art Exhibition, featuring pastels & oil paintings of Lynn Wrona and pearl & gemstone jewelry designs of Carolyn Hebert.
The exhibition will run from March 14-April 27th, 2008. An Opening Reception on Friday, March 14th from 5 to 8 pm will offer complimentary refreshments and a chance to meet and chat with the artists.
Lynn Wrona is an award-winning artist from Holland, MA, who works in pastels and oils. She is an elected member of the North Shore Art Association (Gloucester, MA) and current President of the nationally recognized Academic Artists Association (Springfield, MA). It is one Wrona's "most treasured achievements" to be named a Connecticut Pastel Society Signature Member, and she recently won a coveted "Honorable Mention" from Pastel Journal Magazine in the Pastel 100 Competition, where she was one of 100 chosen from over 4,000 entries. "Colors . . . rich sunlit colors and painting from life . . . these are the most important elements of my paintings," says Wrona of her own work. She will offer a free Pastel Lecture & Demonstration on Sunday, April 6th from 1 to 3PM.
Carolyn Hebert, a GIA Gemologist certified in
Pearls, creates heirloom quality pearl and gemstone jewelry in classic and
contemporary styles. A resident of Worcester, MA, Hebert is one of the few
pearl jewelry designers who maintains the traditional technique of hand-knotting
on silk, which adds strength and durability to each finished piece. "There
is something mystical about the lustrous glow of a fine pearl that has enchanted
and romanced man throughout history," says Hebert. "I am enchanted
and totally consumed by the colors, shapes and all the possibilities they
represent." She will offer a free "History of Pearls"
Lecture on Sunday, April 20th from 1 to 3PM.
The "Timeless Treasures of Celebrations" show is the second in
a series of art exhibitions offered by Celebrations Gallery throughout 2008.
