at Celebrations' 2nd Anniversary

Celebrations Gallery & Shoppes invites you to bring your friends and your sweet-tooth to their festivities on May 3rd & 4th, 2008, when the gallery & gift shop celebrates its second anniversary. This 5,000sf gallery offers a wide selection of original artwork by over 30 local and regional artists plus unique gifts in all price ranges, including specialty teas and gourmet chocolate. To help celebrate their second anniversary, Celebrations has invited two of their newest artists whose media is sweets (chocolate & cookies!) to share an informal talk and complimentary samples of their work.
On Saturday, May 3rd from 1 to 4PM, Celebrations will offer
two styles of decadent chocolate tastings by Garrison
Confections from the Providence area and Divine
Treasures from Manchester.
Using the finest made dark, milk and white chocolate couverture and the freshest seasonal ingredients and producing the handmade chocolates in smaller batches, Garrison Confections (awarded "Top Chocolatier in America" by the Food Network) represents a new generation of American artisanal chocolate makers, whose premium products rival Europe's long-established gourmet chocolate companies in both quality and innovation.

Sarah Brady Underwood, owner of northeast
Connecticut-based "Cookie Art," will offer samples of her
edible creations and will take orders for custom Mother's Day gifts, including
personalized cloisonné cookie hearts and custom "Family Baskets"
that feature sugar cookie people that represent members of family--even
pets! Cookie Art has become Brady Underwood's ultimate expression of creativity
as an artist and a chef. After co-authoring “Sweet Memories, A Gingerbread
Family Scrapbook” (a "sweet," irreverent book featuring
her cookie people as characters), Brady Underwood began to explore the idea
of the cookie as a piece of art, where taste is as important as artistic
execution. "People always tell me my cookies are too beautiful to eat
but once they try one they can’t stop eating them!" she says.
