Celebrate Art on CT Open House Day
June 4, 2009, Pomfret, CT….Join us at Celebrations Gallery & Shoppes on Saturday, June 13th, for Connecticut's Annual Open House Day.
Come
meet and chat with our local artists as they demonstrate their creative
techniques. Several different artists will be on-site throughout the day,
painting plein air weather permitting (indoors if rain), including Valerie
Bruzzi, Susan Rosenstone Larrow, Emily Boosahda,
& Sharon Bahosh (shown here).
Lynn Wrona will be doing pen &
ink sketches, and Justin DuPuis will reveal his
intricate wire wrapping techniques. Bill Herzfeld,
who creates art from found objects and was recently featured on HGTV's "That's
Clever" will demonstrate making his imaginative sculptures from recycled
materials in the late afternoon. Other artists will be popping in throughout
the day (schedule below). Also enjoy tastings of
Harney & Sons Iced Teas and Tea Forte Cocktail Infusions.
Celebrations is proud to again be part of CT's Open House Day. This event
is sponsored by the Connecticut Commission on Tourism & Culture to encourage
residents to explore the state's "fascinating world of art, history,
and tourism with a variety of special visitor incentives."
While at Celebrations, also enjoy work by over 50 different local and regional
artists, including those with work in our 3rd
Anniversary Exhibition, "Celebrating Creativity," on display
in our Grand Foyer through the end of June. And don't forget to shop for
Dads, Grads, Brides, birthdays and garden lovers! … we have something
for everyone.
