Community Fundraiser

3, 2011, Pomfret, CT . . . Celebrations Gallery & Shoppes plans to help
keep the home fires burning for more than 10,000 local families who will
need heating assistance this winter.
Celebrations will be selling wooden matches in decorative boxes for $10 each from October 30th through January 15th. Celebrations will donate 100% of the sales to the Access Agency's LIHEAP (Low Income Heating Assistance Program). Shirley Riemann, Director of Community Services, will help kick off the fundraiser on Sunday, October 30th from 1-3PM. Celebrations will serve complimentary tea & sweets.
According to Riemann, the federal government has cut the budget for the Heating Assistance Program by 51% during a time when heat bills are up and jobs are scarce. Each box of matches (in a variety of decorative styles) sold at Celebrations will be gift wrapped and come with a donation card. "Keep the Home Fires Burning" matches will make thoughtful holiday gifts and, more importantly, warm neighbors in need during the cold winter months. Celebrations also announces Extended Holiday Hours. Starting November 26th through Christmas, Celebrations will be open every day from 11AM to 5PM. Celebrations will close at 3PM on Thanksgiving Eve and Christmas Eve. Celebrations will be closed Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day and New Year's Eve & Day.
