The timeless elegance of pearls has a long and fascinating history. Please
join GIA Pearl Certified Designer, Carolyn R. Hebert
for this free lecture on the history of pearls from ancient times to the
current-day statements that are all the rage in the fashion industry today.
“There is something mystical about the lustrous glow of a fine pearl
that has enchanted and romanced man throughout history,” says Hebert,
remarking on her passion for pearls. “I was enchanted and totally
consumed. I loved the colors, shapes and all the possibilities they represented.”
Hebert’s lecture will cover the latest culturing techniques, the differences
between a real pearl and one that is not, what makes a pearl valuable, and
enjoy a brief demonstration on how pearls are hand knotted on silk. Hebert’s
pearl and gemstone jewelry is currently exhibited and sold at Celebrations
and she will bring additional inventory the day of the lecture.
