PaperSolo, Free Art Lecture
June 11, 2007, Pomfret, CT … Celebrations Gallery & Shoppes in Pomfret offers the third free lecture in our summer series. On Saturday, June 23 from 1 to 3PM, artist Patricia McCandless will share her expertise in an evolving art form she has trademarked PaperSolo. This unique and textural medium uses no paint, no pen, no ink …only layers of exquisite handmade paper from around the world, thus PaperSolo – solely paper.
McCandless will discuss the world of paper and its amazing, centuries-old
history; enthralling colors, fibers, textures and patterns; ancient paper-making
skills that continue in practice today. She will describe how the flow of
creation moves along in free cutting and layering, allowing the papers to
disclose each step along the way. An award-winning artist, Patricia’s
artwork has been presented in juried shows, festivals, galleries and museums
