Artist Statement
I grew up in a home where old, used and tattered items were not disregarded; they were repaired and made useable again. My mother was forever trying to stay within her strict budget and at the same time make our home something we could all be proud of. I have incorporated this into my adult life as well.
I often stumble across an item that just needs a little TLC and then will be ready for another life. If they don't find me, I seek them out at flea markets and tag sales, all just begging to be given another chance to be needed again. In this disposable world of ours, where there is so much discarded without a second thought, I feel good about recycling in this way.
