Lynn Wrona, Oil Paintings & Pastels
|
“Studio painting is for portraits and still-life. I like the spontaneity of pastels for commissioned portraits and character studies. A commissioned still-life painting becomes a truly personal and meaningful painting, when a client gives me family heirlooms or other favorite possessions to create the still-life arrangement. Colors…rich sunlit colors and painting from life… these are the most important elements of my paintings... I love working in the pastel medium, their beautiful colors and versatility bring such fun to the pastel painting process. Oil paints, canvas, brushes, easel and a light source. What happiness! I really enjoy painting the nostalgic still-life in oil paints using light and shadow. The shadow holds the painting together, the light gives it life..." BiographyFrom the time I was very little, I found such enjoyment drawing and copying the world around me. In 1989 I became an elected artist of the North Shore Art Association, Gloucester. When I achieved Artist Membership in Academic Artists Association, Springfield, MA, I became a Council Member, then Awards Chairman, and now serve as the President of this wonderful nationally recognized organization. It is one my most treasured achievements to be named a Connecticut Pastel Society Signature Member. Good News!Wrona wins a coveted "Honorable Mention" from Pastel Journal Magazine in the Pastel 100 Competition: "After viewing more than 4,000 entries, how could our staff and judges possibly narrow the count to only 100 winners?" says Pastel Journal... Lynn is thrilled and grateful they chose hers. Back to Celebrations: |
