Artist Statement
“I make carved wooden and mixed media sculpture. The fluid grace and beauty of the female form are the inspiration for much of my work. Some of the pieces are very representational and others just have the flow and roundness of the female form.
One of the exciting aspects of the carving process is the interesting surface feature that the grain of the wood gives to the piece. There is a transformational moment when the sculpture is oiled and the graining of the wood becomes part of the piece.”
